My Story
Hi, I'm LaKenya the Founder and CEO of Herbal By Nature LLC. My mother taught me how to do hair and my gandmother taught me how to press hair. From a young girl my mother and grandmother always gave us a hair care routine. At an early age, you all know the big plats on wash day Friday's & pressed, oiled and styled it on Sunday's for school.
- My grandmother pressed my natural hair, leaving it soft and shiny with a smooth texture, yes she got that hair super straight, she was good. She took the time out to nourish, hydrate, moisturize and revitalized my hair with a nice hair care routine. Throughout the years I've had natural hair, relaxed hair, long hair, short hair, black hair, brown hair. honey blonde hair & orange colored hair, by dying it to get the perfect color I wanted. I decided to try a color. Well, it didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it to, it came out a different color orange, but it was better than the color I tried to go for and, oh it was such a beautiful color.
- Just to say our hair goes through many diferent changes and styles, so it's very important to nourish and take good care of it. I've had split ends, breakage & sheading before. Either way our hair goes through a lot and in general has to have the essential nutrients & some tender loving care to grow and rejuvenate our Lustrous strands from roots to ends, for hair to be healthy, have volume, shine, and bounce. Our hair goes through a lot of things. It takes time to nurture and maintain. I've learned patience is a virtue. My mama was a great braider, that's where my love for hair care started. She taught me everything I know about hair especially braiding. She used to keep my hair in french braids with beads when I was little, a protective hair style.
- First in order to do hair, it has to be nourished from within starting with the hair follicles. With a normal hair care routine such as shampooing, deep conditioning, moisturizing and hot oil treatments.
- That Leads me back to my journey to keep & maintain strong, healthy hair is to replenish the follicles from within, from the source of the tresses. My family uses and loves my hair growth products. Thanks family and friends! For me I wanted to use a product that I could start seeing the benefits, volume in my hair, to have my hair styles be bold and defined, the beauty in my hair and keep the balance as well as the moisture in it. I wanted a product that people could use so they could embrace their hair and see the great potential in their own journey to healthy looking hair. This is how I first got interested in caring for hair, the dynamics of it all and what goes into keeping it healthy. My interest is in the beauty of it as well as keeping that beauty by starting from the hair follicles and the science on how our beautiful hair grows.
